CDP Capability Maturity Model Integration (CDP CMMI)

Keeping Project Development Quality Standards In Check

Programme Details
The New CDP CMMI programme is a combination of the previous Software Process Improvement Programme (SPI Programme) and the Quality Excellence for Software & Technology SMEs Programme (QuESTS).

The highlights of the new programme are:
  • An increased of financial assistance to achieve Maturity Level 2 Rating from RM 25,000 to RM 50,000.
  • An open service provider system, where clients are free to engage any SEI Registered service provider.
But before we go into the details of the new programme, let us revisit CMMI and its benefit.

CMMI is a process improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes.

It can be used to guide process improvement across a project, a division, or an entire organization. CMMI helps integrate traditionally separate organizational functions, set process improvement goals and priorities, provide guidance for quality processes, and provide a point of reference for appraising current processes.

And these are some of the benefits of CMMI
  • Link management and engineering activities to business objectives
  • Expand the scope of and visibility into the product lifecycle and engineering activities
  • Incorporate lessons learned from additional areas of best practice
  • Implement more robust high-maturity practices
  • Address additional organizational functions critical to products and services
Realizing the increasing need for MSC Malaysia companies to adopt the CMMI model and the need for the CMMI rating, MDeC has reviewed the SPI and QuESTS programmes and has developed a new programme.

Introduction
The programme is specially designed to create awareness about the CMMI Model among the MSC Malaysia companies; with the ultimate goal of these companies to be successfully appraised with the CMMI Maturity Level Rating.
