CDP Six Sigma (formerly known as MSC Malaysia Six Sigma)

The Pursuit of `Zero Variation'

INTRODUCTION

Reducing defects in your products is part of achieving good standards of quality control. What if there was a system or method in which you can further minimize product defects? If you are looking to achieve or implement a 'zero variation' policy in your company, the Six Sigma system can help.

Six Sigma is a methodology to manage process variations that cause defects, and to allow your company to systematically manage these variations to eliminate product defects.

Technically, Six Sigma is related to the magic number of 3.4 defects per million opportunities. The formula is simple. This customer expectation is the mean. Therefore, the mean is also our performance target. Defects in products are defined as unacceptable deviation from the mean.

If you effectively eliminate this variation, you will in turn eliminate defects.
